Manchester United and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the silence since his latest public outburst last Sunday.
The 36-year-old lost his cool again after Portugal’s hopes of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup suffered a dent with the 2-1 loss to Serbia.
Following the full-time whistle, Ronaldo caught the camera’s attention while expressing a passionate moment of annoyance and fury over the result, some of which was directed to his manager Fernando Santos.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese icon has since gone on social media to move on after the storm.
“Football has shown us time and again that sometimes it’s the winding roads that lead us to the most desired outcomes,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Yesterday’s result was tough but not enough to bring us down. The goal of attending World Cup 2022 is still very much alive and we know what we have to do to get there. No excuses. Portugal bound for Qatar.”
Up next for the striker is Premier League action when United travel to Watford this weekend.
