Neymar

Former Brazil defender Cafu believes Neymar has better technical quality than two of the game’s greatest ever footballers.

While Neymar initially came out as the next enormous talent after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Paris Saint-Germain star’s lack of consistency never quite allowed him to live up to that billing.

Neymar later moved to PSG to step out of Messi’s shadow at Barcelona in order to be the main man in Paris. But a certain Kylian Mbappe shot to stardom and became the club’s brightest star.

Meanwhile, Cafu has rated Neymar above Messi and Ronaldo when we’re talking pure natural ability.

“Neymar is technically better than Messi, better than Cristiano Ronaldo, but he must assume the responsibility of a leader,” Cafu explained via MARCA.

“One must dedicate themselves 100% to football; I’m not better than Neymar, but I am better than other right-backs because I dedicated myself to that.

“He [Neymar] has to become a captain,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old has been ruled out of Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Argentina.
