Struggling English Premier League side Norwich City have appointed Dean Smith.
As previously reported here on Futaa last week, the former Aston Villa boss was tipped to move to Carrow Road after the club parted ways with Daniel Farke.
“Norwich City Football Club is delighted to announce Dean Smith as our new head coach,” the ‘Canaries said.
The club confirmed that Smith has been handed a two-and-a-half-year contract, and arrives with his trusted right-hand man Craig Shakespeare.
“Most recently manager of fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, Smith brings a wealth of experience to Norwich City,” the club added.
“At Aston Villa he helped guide the club to promotion from the Championship during his first season in charge, before two successful campaigns in the Premier League followed.”
Meanwhile, Smith will mark his debut at home to Southampton this weekend.
