Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw is still yet to link up with the England squad ahead of Albania tie as he is still following protocols after a head injury.

Shaw sustained a head injury during the Manchester derby over the weekend and was replaced by Alex Telles as United suffered a 2-0 loss. The left-back was initially included in the Three Lions squad ahead of Albania and San Marino encounters.

Speaking ahead of the Albania tie, Gareth Southgate has revealed Shaw’s return has been delayed, and is waiting for a medical report.

“I’ve got to check in with our medical staff for today’s updates, the longer it goes the less likely that is [that he’ll be involved],” said Southgate.

“Luke has got very strict guidelines on concussion markers, the first day he didn’t pass the markers so that gets shifted back.

“We’ve got to follow the guidelines on that, we might run out of time, we’ll just see.”

Marcus Rashford withdrew from the squad earlier in the week meaning Harry Maguire is the only United player in the England side.
