Due to a calf injury suffered against Leeds United at the weekend, Youri Tielemans has withdrawn from the Belgium squad.
The Leicester City midfielder was scheduled to meet up with the rest of Roberto Martinez’s squad ahead of their World Cup 2022 qualifying matches against Estonia and Wales, which are set to take place next week.
He has now withdrawn from the squad due to calf and ankle issues, according to Belgian news site Het Laatste Nieuws.
According to the article, Tielemans will be out for two to three weeks, which means he will be absent for the Foxes’ match against Chelsea on November 20 and the forthcoming Europa League tie against Legia Warsaw.
The injury occurred during Leicester’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Sunday, when he had to be substituted in the closing 15 minutes of the game.
