Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman has made a call to drop his allegiance with England to instead play for Nigeria.
As with most players who make the same decisions of switching international allegiances, Lookman previously played for England’s juniors up to U20 level.
With the 24-year-old seeing his chances to become a regular for England diminish, Lookman is now deciding on a new future with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
“We are aware of Lookman’s desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a process to it,” NFF chief scout Tunde Adelakun told BBC Sport Africa.
“After this process, then comes the consideration and decision of the head coach [Gernot Rohr] on whether or when he deems it fit to get him involved.”
