Wilfried Zaha is considering his international future after asking not to be called up in Ivory Coast’s squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers.

Ivory Coast coach Patrice Beaumelle has revealed the Crystal Palace winger requested not to be called in the national team squad ahead of the international break. Zaha was expected to join Les Éléphants squad ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nationals tournament in January but now his future is in doubt.

“He asked not to come because he comes home sick at each meeting,” said Beaumelle.

“He wants to reflect on the rest of his international career.”

The 28-year-old has earned 21 caps for Ivory Coast since making his debut for them in 2017.
