Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard once again stepped up in Erling Haaland’s absence as Borussia Dortmund recorded a 2-0 victory over Koln at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.

The Belgian followed on from his midweek brace over Ingolstad in the DFB Pokal with the opening goal, before Steffen Tigges secured the points with a second-half strike.

The hosts were ahead with five minutes of the first half remaining, as Hazard met Jude Bellingham’s cross with a firm header beyond Timo Horn.

Their advantage was doubled after 63 minutes, as Tigges glanced home Julian Brandt’s corner for his first Bundesliga goal.

Marco Rose’s side are just one point beyond Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race and will be looking to continue keeping pace with the Bavarian side in their trip to RB Leipzig on Saturday.
