Former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Xavi Hernandez has said he is only focused on his work at Al Sadd despite being linked with Spanish giants.
Barcelona relieved Ronald Koeman of his duties following the 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano, with Xavi thought to be in line to replace him.
He is however not getting carried away, insisting he is only focused on his work at the Qatar-based club.
“Right now I am focused on my work here at Al Sadd. I can’t say anything else,” Xavi said on Thursday as reported by AS.
The club is however thought to be ‘okay’ with the former midfielder leaving, with initial talks about his departure said to have gone well.
In the meantime, Barcelona have named Sergi Barjuan as the caretaker manager.
The Catalan club are currently ninth in the LaLiga standings, having lost four of their opening 10 LaLiga games.
