Lautaro Martinez has signed a new five-year deal with the Italian side Inter Milan.

“Internazionale Milano have announced that an agreement has been reached to extend Lautaro Martinez’s contract. The Argentine will be at the club until 30 June 2026,” a statement from the club read.

Lautaro’s previous contract with Milan was set to expire in the summer of 2023 and the club had included a release clause of £94m. The Argentine has now put pen to paper a new deal for a further three years on improved terms, while the release clause has been removed.

The 24-year-old had attracted interest from a number of clubs including Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur. Last season, Martinez notched up 19 goals in all competitions as Inter won the Serie A title under Antonio Conte. He also won the Copa America with Argentina in the summer.

He has scored five goals in nine Serie A appearances this season as I Nerazzurri sit third.
