Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ben White, Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard could be available for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leicester.

Arsenal progressed past Leeds United in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night without Tierney and Odegaard.

The pair were left out of the squad due to minor injuries. While, White started the game before being substituted in the second half after struggling with a sickness ‘bug’.

Speaking after their 2-0 victory, Arteta said that White was struggling with a similar bug that ruled Pablo Mari out of the game.

The Gunners boss said: ‘There is a bug going on. We lost Pablo today as well as he wasn’t feeling great.

‘Ben had it as well for the last day or two. He wasn’t feeling great, so we decided to take him off.’

He also gave an update on Tierney – who has been out of action since last week with a bruised ankle that forced him to sit out Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa – and Odegaard – who came on during that game but picked up a knock.

He said that Tierney and Odegaard were not feeling ‘good enough to be selected’ for their Carabao Cup clash, but admitted he was hopeful they would be ‘available’ for Saturday’s clash with Leicester.

When asked to give an update after their game against Leeds, Arteta said: ‘They were both [Tierney and Odegaard] out with two different injuries.

‘They tried yesterday but they didn’t feel great. They wanted to be involved, but they weren’t good enough to be selected today.

‘Hopefully in the next few days they can feel better and they can be available for Leicester.’

Nevertheless, Arsenal will still be without long-term absentee Granit Xhaka during their Premier League fixture on Saturday.

Xhaka has been out of action ever since the North London derby after sustaining significant’ damage to the medial ligament in his right knee.

The midfielder did not need surgey but was told he would be out of action for around three months following his collision with Spurs winger Lucas Moura.
