Chelsea hosted Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge and what many would consider a stern test for any team in the league, proved to be a rather comfortable win with goals from Kovacic and a great solo goal from Lukaku.
The first half proved a tricky one for the Blues considering the amount of chances that Aston Villa created. Chelsea for the most part seemed to be quite composed in possession and apart from the few chances that Villa created.
Romelu Lukaku’s goal came from a fantastic pass from Kovacic there he then was composed enough to leave an Aston Villa defender on the floor before he slotted away for his first Premier League goal at Stamford Bridge.
The second half showed Chelsea’s composure keeping the ball well, stretching the Aston Villa defence left & right. But their second goal came after a moment of hesitation cost Aston Villa the second goal with Kovacic reading the slow pass from Minngs and dinking it over the Aston Villa keeper.
Towards the end of the game, Romelu Lukaku got his second goal with a bullet of a strike into the top corner from outside the box and that was the final nail in Aston Villa’s coffin.
