Antonio Conte’s representative, Federico Pastorello, has disputed that the Italian and Arsenal had reached an agreement on the manager’s post at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have had a dismal start to the 2018 Premier League season, losing all three of their games without scoring a single goal against Brentford, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

According to a recent rumor, the North London club has reached a ‘preliminary agreement’ with Conte to take over as manager in October, with current manager Mikel Arteta set to leave.

According to journalist Freddie Paxton, Pastorello, a personal friend of Conte’s, there is ‘absolutely no agreement’ between the two parties.

Despite Arteta’s job as manager being called into question owing to the team’s failures this season, Paxton claims that there has been “no official approach from Arsenal.”

Conte has been without a job since departing Italian champions Inter at the end of last season, but the 52-year-old has previous coaching experience in English football, having led Chelsea to Premier League and FA Cup victories at Stamford Bridge between July 2016 and July 2018.
