Although it was taken for granted that the Swedish attacker was going to head back to Sweden to play for Hammarby, in the end he will stay in Serie A.

‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ gave more details this Monday on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future. The Swede, who has had a great season at Milan despite being 38, looks like he will continue to play for the ‘Rossoneri’.

The striker was set to return to Sweden to play for Hammarby, the club he owns, but recent events have led to him staying at the San Siro.

The renewal of Pioli’s contract is apparently of the main reasons why he is staying at Milan. Ibra is a big fan of Pioli.

In addition, Ibrahimovic stills feels young and he is trying to prove to European football that he can keep on performing at the top level.

Thanks to his good performances, Milan are sure to be in next season’s Europa League and Ibra does not want to miss it.

Since his return to Milan, Ibra has played 18 games and scored eight goals as well as given four assists.
