Leon Balogun has said he is amazed to have joined Scottish giants Rangers on a year’s deal with an option for a further year.
Balogun signed as a free agent after he quit English Championship side Wigan Athletic.
He has teamed up with fellow Nigeria star Joe Aribo.
“It’s amazing that I am coming to a club that has an incredible history and fan culture,” the 32-year-old defender told his new club.
“It’s a proud moment for me. I never saw it coming.”
Rangers are now of the best followed teams in Scotland and Balogun said he is looking forward to experience this support.
“Obviously, to have this kind of crowd behind you and every game at home is amazing,” he said.
“I am just lucky to have experienced such or something similar in my career at some stages, but I just want to experience it again because has been telling me that I don’t have an idea of how big it is.”
He has been assigned jersey No 26.
