Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager has revealed why his side lost 1-0 to Aston Villa on Tuesday night, while stating that he is not disappointed.

According to him, his team came into the match after “a very emotional and physically demanding week” in which they beat Liverpool and Manchester City.

Arteta saw his side’s quest to qualify for the Europa League via the Premier League all but end, following a shock loss against their relegation-threatened hosts.

Trezeguet scored the only goal in the first half, as Villa boosted their chances of survival. Arteta told reporters after the game:

“This is football, every game is completely different. “First of all congratulate Villa for their performance and win. “For us it has been a very emotional and physically demanding week. We tried everything.”
