Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to be offered a new £250,000-a-week deal by Arsenal in the coming days.
Aubameyang has been a subject of speculations in recent months with the player yet to ink a new deal and it is no surprise that the North London club wants to tie him to a longer contract at the Emirates.
Reports from the Telegraph indicates that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants the future of his captain resolved as soon as possible with the Gabon captain having just one year left on his current deal.
Arsenal’s latest offer would represent an increase on his current £198,000-a-week salary, which according to the reports, is heavily topped up by appearance and goal bonuses but still fall short of top earner Mesut Özil’s £350,000-a-week pay packet.
The 31-year-old has been one of the consistent performers for the team since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, scoring 66 goals in 107 appearances.
There have been rumours that the player wants to play in the Champions League and with Arsenal set to end the season in what will be their lowest Premier League finish ever and potentially another season without European football, the player might consider his options.
The player who has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Manchester United has scored 20 Premier League goals this season.
