Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has concluded negotiations to renew his contract with the club, reports Cadena Ser.

Messi is believed to be ready to leave Camp Nou, when his current deal expires in 2021.

The player is ‘angry’ about leaked media reports, which points to him as being responsible for the issues at the club, like Ernesto Valverde’s sack as a manager in January.

Lionel is also frustrated about the squad’s lack of quality.

The 33-year-old and his father, Jorge, had begun discussing renewing his last deal with the club which was signed in 2017, but they no longer wish to continue.

Messi netted his 700th career goal on Tuesday in the 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid, but they now trail Real Madrid by four points, with five rounds of fixtures left.
