Former Bayern Munich keeper, Oliver Kahn asked Bayern for calm with regards to Leroy Sane’s signing as the player’s Man City contract extends to 2021 before it expires.

Kahn has called for calm when it comes to Bayern Munich trying to sign Leroy Sane. The former goalkeeper warned them that the German footballer still has a year left on his Man City contract.

“Sane? He’s still got a year left of his contract at Manchester City and there’s nothing else to say about it,” the former Bayern Munich keeper and member of the board told ‘ZDF’.

Kahn warned Bayern Munich that they do not have to rush to sign the German. They have wanted him since 2019, but the player got injured that summer and the deal was off.

We’ll talk about signings later on if they really end up happening, but in addition, right now we are in a moment in which you have to be really careful. Especially financially speaking.

Sane’s medium term future does not lie at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has already confirmed this. “Leroy had said that he does not want to extend his contract from next season. If at the end of this campaign we reach an agreement on him going to another club, he’ll go. If not, he’ll go when his contract expires next year.”
