PSG does not intend to give up Neymar. He’s one of their key players and they want to keep him at all costs.
According to ‘Le Parisien’, Neymar’s chances of leaving the Parc des Princes this summer are very slim. Nor would Barça have much room for manoeuvre after the losses caused by the health crisis.
This combination of circumstances has lead the French press to believe Neymar will stay away from the Camp Nou. ‘Le Parisien’ sees the Brazilian at the forefront of PSG for at least another year.
Neymar’s contract with PSG runs until 2022. Hence, according to the source, his departure is more likely next year.
If they fail to reach an agreement on Neymar’s renewal, the summer of 2021 will be the French club’s last chance to cash in on his transfer. It is an opportunity that Al-Khelaïfi’s club will not miss.
But there is still time. For the moment, Neymar has no news of PSG’s sporting director Leonardo. No one has made him a proposal for a contract extension.
Barça, meanwhile, are keeping a close eye on Neymar. The soap opera about his possible return seems doomed to continue in time…
